1. Introduction

Parcely ("we", "us", "our") is a New Zealand property research platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (hashed). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

Usage data

We collect information about how you use Parcely, including chat messages, property searches, document uploads, and feature usage counts.

Uploaded documents

If you upload documents (e.g., LIM reports, property titles), we store and process them to provide AI-powered analysis. Documents are stored securely and associated with your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve our property research services
  • To process your chat queries and provide AI-generated responses
  • To manage your account and subscription
  • To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse
  • To communicate with you about your account or service updates

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Parcely:

  • Supabase (AU region) — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI chat responses
  • OpenAI — text embeddings for document search
  • Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions
  • Google — OAuth authentication (optional)
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — geocoding for property lookups
  • LINZ — New Zealand land information data

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them. We only share the minimum information necessary for each service to function.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase servers in the Australia (AU) region. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We use row-level security (RLS) policies to ensure your data is only accessible to you.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Free tier chat history is retained for 7 days. Paid tier data is retained indefinitely while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

7. Your Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Withdraw consent for data processing

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice.
